Home remedies to fight corona virus



Corona virus is a air born disease. It effects different people in different ways. Most of the people who are infected with this virus get recovered without hospitalization. Most common symptoms of this virus are fever, cough and sore throat.

Currently there is no vaccine to treat corona virus disease. It is best to stay home to avoid getting infected, but what if you are the earner of your family?

If you want to go in office or need to handle business which is not possible online then you have to go out.  In some cases social distancing is not even possible. 

People with mild symptoms can treat themselves at home. However if your symptoms are worst then you need to consult a doctor.

There are certain home remedies which you can follow regularly if you have to step out of your house or if someone from your house is going out.   

1)Traditional Kadha



Benefits: Ayurvedic kadha(drink) helps to fight cold, flu and infections. It helps you to fight with  bacteria and viruses present in air. It improves immunity power. It is made with lot of spices that are boiled in water and their juice is extracted.

Steps to prepare kadha:- 

  • 4-5 cloves 
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • 4-5 black pepper
  • 1 spoon ginger or ginger powder
  • 4-5 basil leaves
  • 2-3 spoons of jaggery(or sugar)
  • 1 liter water.

Add everything in one liter water. Boil that water in a pot or pan till it becomes half liter. Drink a cup or two daily. 

2) Hot water

How to take: Drink hot water daily. If you have to go in office and don't have hot water facility then drink at-least 2 glass of hot water after getting up in the morning and after going home. You can even add a pinch of salt in your hot water and drink one glass daily. 

Benefits: This will help relieve your throat. It gives temporary relief from running nose and also soothes irritation caused due to continuous coughing. 

3) Green Tea 



Benefits: Green tea is best immunity booster. It has lots of benefits including fat burning ,slowing down aging process. It is loaded with antioxidant and nutrients. It destroys bacteria and viruses that causes throat infection and tooth decay. 

How to take: Drink one cup of green tea daily. If you don't like its taste then you can take lemon green tea, it will enhance your taste.

4) Steam



Benefits: This is the best thing to fight against corona virus. Take steam regularly and you will notice the results. It is not only good for your skin but also for your cough. It provides you relief from chest congestion and opens your nasal passage so that you can breath properly. 

How to take: Buy a steam inhaler or facial steamer if you don't have it.  Take a steam for 5 minutes. Repeat twice or thrice  a day. 

You can also take some hot water in a bowl, keep in on a table, take a towel to cover your head and face and inhale the warm vapor. Be careful while doing this process and keep safe distance between you and the bowl. 

Other precautions you can take:  

When outside clean and disinfect surfaces or things like desktop, keyboard, mouse, desktop table, phones, light switch and doorknobs which you touch frequently.

Always remember to take shower regularly after returning home.

Wash your clothes and disinfect your accessories like your cell phone, hand bag etc. once you return home.

Gargle your mouth with lukewarm saline water- take lukewarm water in a glass and add a pinch of salt in it. It helps to soothe sore throat.

Lastly,

Wear a mask 

Avoid hand contact with your eyes, nose and mouth when outside

Wash your hands regularly with soap and hand sanitizer 

Keep a safe distance
