Be Cautious: Mistakes while doing push-ups

There are many type of push-ups one can try. They can be performed anywhere and at anytime.

While doing push-up a person can do many mistakes and ends up injuring themselves.  Most people never get guidance about how to do push-up correctly and they end up complaining about the results. Many people doing push-ups for years are still unaware about the perfect way to do it.

Push-ups seems easy to do, but there are certain things you need to keep in your mind while doing push-up.

These things not only help you to do push-ups perfectly in a right way but also help to avoid any injury which could occur.

Things to keep in your mind are:

1) There should be chest level gap between both your hands, more or less gap will change the type of push-up you are doing along with the body part you are focusing.

2) Both hands should be beside your chest

3) As a beginner keep small gap between both your legs as it will help you to manage your balance.

4) Keep posture straight and tight- it means your lower body should not bend inside or your hips should not come outside.

5) While doing push-up, Your lower body goes down first and then your upper body goes down- this should not happen, remember you are doing chest workout.

6) As a beginner go down and touch floor for each push-up till you are able to lift your body properly on your both hands.

7) When you go down keep a gap of 5 cm or less between you and floor. If you are unable to do this then follow step 6.

8) Neck should be up while doing push-up- it means if you look down i.e. on the floor while doing push-up your neck will cause a strain because of your body pressure. So you should always look straight in front of you.

9) Keep lower body tight- if you keep your lower body loose then either your stomach will come out or your hips will come out while doing push-up, which results in wrong posture.

10) Make sure your hands folds in elbow while going down else your shoulder will come out, which is also a wrong posture.

11) While going down your chest should come out and wings of your shoulder should come out and your back should be stretched.

12) Don't move your neck while going down- most people when they are unable to take pressure on their hands, moves neck forward in an attempt to touch floor and forces themselves to go down.

Tip:  Record your video when you do push up and see it for yourself whether it is going perfect or you need to improve yourself.

Every exercise requires a right posture. A right posture while doing any workout will always help you to get the results you desire.

Stay conscious, be safe and remember these above steps while next time you do your push-ups.
